About Us

AeroMIT is the Official Aeromodelling and Drone Research Team of Manipal Academy of Higher Education. We design and fabricate aerial vehicles for various research and competitive applications. Our project was founded 11 years ago, in 2009, and has now grown into a thriving team of over 30 interdisciplinary undergraduate students from MIT, Manipal.

Our Subsystems

Aerodynamics

AD designs RC aircrafts for various mission specifications utilizing the strong fundamentals of aircraft design philosophy and aerodynamic concepts. It is also tasked with documenting the design process of every project the team undertakes.

Advanced Drone Research

ADR does extensive work on various Autonomous Unmanned Aerial Vehicles having numerous real-world application. The culmination of this research is the implementation of machine learning alongside cutting edge image processing technology.

Management

Management ensures the smooth functioning of the team through clever and efficient logistics handling. In addition, we deal with the social media and finances of the team, while simultaneously acquiring sponsorships from our vast network of industry contacts.

Research and Development

Research and Development bring their prowess to the table through innovation and fluid thinking. These novel ideas are then implemented to solve real-world problems.

Structures and Composites

Structures are the highly skilled workforce that builds aircraft designed by Aerodynamics. Materials used in builds include fiber-reinforced polymers like carbon fiber, glass fiber, and hybrid fabrics.
